What is Web design?

Web design is the process of creating websites. It encompasses several different aspects, including webpage layout, content production, and graphic design. While the terms web design and web development are often used interchangeably, web design is technically a subset of the broader category of web development.

What is Web analytics?

Web analytics is the collection, reporting, and analysis of website data that focus on identifying measures based on your organizational and user goals and using the website data to determine the success or failure of those goals and to drive strategy and improve the user's experience.

What is Bounce Rate?

Bounce rate is an Internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis that represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and then leave rather than continuing to view other pages within the same site.

What is a domain registrar?

A domain name registrar is a company that manages domain name reservations as well as IP address assignments for such domain names. Google's domain name is "google.com," and their IP address is 192.168.1.1. Without having to memorize and input numeric IP addresses, domain names make it easier to access websites.

What is DNS?

The Domain Name System (DNS) is the phonebook of the Internet. Humans access information online through domain names, like nytimes.com or espn.com. Web browsers interact through Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. DNS translates domain names to IP addresses so browsers can load Internet resources.

Each device connected to the Internet has a unique IP address that other machines use to find the device. DNS servers eliminate the need for humans to memorize IP addresses such as 192.168.1.1 (in IPv4), or more complex newer alphanumeric IP addresses such as 2400:cb00:2048:1::c629:d7a2 (in IPv6).

What is a subdomain?

A subdomain is basically a child domain under the main domain name. For example, news.bridging.co.tz is a subdomain of bridging.co.tz.

Once you register a domain, you have permission to create subdomains for it by yourself. Subdomains are commonly used by websites to create child-sites under the same domain name. For example, a business website can create a subdomain for their blog or their online store at store.example.com or blog.example.com

What is Domain Propagation?

Propagation is the projected length of time it takes a domain's DNS (Domain Name System) information to be updated across the entire web after a change is made. The process can take 24-48 hours to complete in full. Because of propagation, not all visitors will be directed to your new name servers on your new hosting account; some visitors will continue to be directed to your old name servers on your old hosting account until propagation is complete.

How quickly visitors are directed to the new name servers depends on their physical location, internet service provider, and luck; it is not something a registrar has control over. Once propagation is complete, your site will appear on our server, and your email will be fully functional.

What is a firewall

A firewall is a network security device that monitors incoming and outgoing network traffic and decides whether to allow or block specific traffic based on a defined set of security rules.

Firewalls have been the first line of defense in network security for over 25 years. They establish a barrier between secured and controlled internal networks that can be trusted and untrusted outside networks, such as the Internet.

A firewall can be hardware, software, or both.

What is the Content Management System (CMS)?

A content management system, or CMS, is software that allows users to develop, maintain, and change website content without requiring advanced technical expertise.
A CMS is a platform that allows you to develop a website without having to write any of the code from scratch (or even know how to code at all).
Rather than designing your own framework for creating websites, storing images, and other features, the content management system takes care of it all for you, allowing you to concentrate on the more forward-facing aspects of your website.

What is the web traffic

Web traffic is the amount of data sent and received by visitors to a website. This result is determined by the number of visitors and the number of pages they visit Website traffic is among the metrics measured to monitor user or visitor behavior.
